ABOUT THE ELEPHANT CROCHET BLANKET PATTERN:

Pattern is written over 15 pages and contains very detailed written description supported by a lots of notes, detailed photos, links to tutorials and videos. I’ve used a special marking method so you don’t need to guess where to sew on parts or embroider things (ears, eyes etc.). Exact places where to sew on the parts are also highlighted on the photos.

I’ve also included beautiful 1 page photo instruction to show how to fold the blanket to turn it into a plush crochet elephant toy. This can be easily printed out and enclosed with the blanket if you are gifting it to someone.

ABOUT THE BLANKET:

I came up with an idea for this multipurpose blanket with a thought of it being baby’s favourite TOY TO PLAY as well as something to CUDDLE and KEEP WARM while sleeping. This blanket is especially handy when travelling either in a pram or a car seat. It’s not only SPACE SAVING (blanket and toy 2 in 1) but it also keeps the baby occupied in both folded and unfolded form. It can also be hung over the cot (and tied in to it with ribbons) when not in use or for smaller babies to look at.

This Cuddle and Play 2 in 1 elephant blanket will make a cute, original and at the same time practical CROCHET BABY SHOWER GIFT.

HOW TO BUY:

STEP 1: Choose if you want to buy just the digital pattern (pdf) or a complete yarn kit with yarn and optional additions like a printed pattern, crochet hook, and other bits and accessories.

If you’d like to buy a kit, click here -> Dreamy Wool Elephant Yarn Kit

If you’d prefer just the digital pattern, go to step 2.

STEP 2: Choose which website you want to buy the digital pattern on:

Buy on Ravelry here -> Cuddle and Play Elephant Blanket Crochet Pattern

Buy on Etsy here -> Cuddle and Play Elephant Blanket Crochet Pattern

Note: The prices may vary due to fees and taxes imposed on my shop on those websites. For UK customers, it’s cheaper to buy on Ravelry as 20% VAT tax will not be added to my prices. Also, if I ever update the pattern, I can easily send updates via Ravelry, but I don’t have this possibility on Etsy, so you’ll not get any future updates.

I’ve purchased the lamb, pig and elephant and the elephant is my most favorite. Every time I make one, I fall in love with his sweet face and hate to part with him! It is always loved by the recipients and has been a big hit at baby showers! The pattern is well-written and very easy to follow, even for beginners. There are videos included with the pattern that helps you when attach the tusks and do the trunk. It helped me a lot. This pattern is highly recommended!

I purchased this pattern last year or possibly beginning of this year. I’ve made many of the elephant blankets. It’s a well written pattern with good pictures to help. I’ve made the sheep one before this one and I love your patterns, thank you. I’m trying to decide on either the cow or pig one next 😊

Wow. The first time I have crocheted and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The pattern is so well written and the links etc are so helpful. I made a few mistakes with the trunk and finally with emails to Aneta and facebook support I got it right! 🙂 I took 5 weeks to make this blanket ( I have made some mistakes but I know if I did this again it would be perfect) and cannot wait to give it to my grandchild for Easter. I am so hooked now that I bought the sheep and the cow blanket instructions. My suggestion is to buy a few patterns at once to get a discount. I should have done this but then at the time I did not know how addicted I would get and would want to make all these animals. Enjoy. 🙂

Very nice pattern! I used a slightly different yarn since the original one was not available but it still turned out amazing. The instructions and additional videos are detailed and easy to understand. Perfect!

  5. Lisa

I do love the elephant blanket, however, I have followed the pattern for the trunk and head numerous times now and they never turn out right. The trunk comes out with a lump on one side, the “decreases” for the trunk at the beginning angle comes very sharp(?), I guess I wold call it, and the head comes out very small. I have been crocheting over 40 years and read patterns very well, but the trunk and head absolutely have me stumped. Any help with this would be wonderful, as my daughter’s baby shower is fast approaching on Dec 12th. Thank you.

      Hi Lisa,

Sorry to hear you are struggling with the pattern. I’ve recorded a video for the trunk. Please email us at support@crochetarcade.co.uk and my assistant Cristina will send you the links for the videos.

      Kind Regards,
      Aneta

I made this for my Goddaughter’s baby boy a year ago and it turned out well. I did have trouble with the trunk (my fault not yours) so mine ended up a slightly different version. Still looks great though and just as cuddly.
